Paris-Orly International Airport, Paris’ other airport and the busiest French airport for domestic flights has inaugurated a new 12,000 m2, €90m ($102.3m) South terminal international pier.
The pier features a 300 m2 store offering perfumes, wine & spirits and tobacco, a 180sq m Exki bar/restaurant that affords views over the runway, and an 80sq m Relay unit.
A range of complimentary services are also available including a children’s play-area, two S5 game areas (football and racing) and two retro-gaming arcade area, two video and multi-media areas with tablets available for public use, workspace with device charging point, free access to a piano and landscaped open-air smoking area.
The boarding area is dedicated to international traffic and long-haul flights to the West Indies and can accommodate six wide-body aircraft or 12 mid-size wide-body aircraft.
The pier which has the capacity to accommodate 1.9 million passengers per year was built in response to growing levels of international passenger traffic at the airport.
